Pros

Cons

1. The profile auto faked the age & location even thou it connected to facebook, I hope it’s left BLANK instead or better “Ask Me” instead of being fake
2. “Wink Bombs” messages with cheesy predefined pick up lines which I suspect include 20% auto bot replies
3. In the profile “Set Status” does not reflect the latest status, it seems someone will come in and “help” you select the best status you had written.
4. The GPS Location put me in another country instead of my own….so..why make me use Location if it’s not even accurate?
5. I checked out skout.com website, I can only register using facebook and can’t even log in.
6. When you send “invitation” which blinded by the desire to get more points, I personally made the mistakes of sending 80 SMS to my CONTACTS in a SINGLE SMS!!
7. Do a quick search online for skout account blocked. You will quickly find hundreds of people complaining about being blocked from skout for no reason. Some within hours of signing up and hardly sending any messages.

I can’t imagine the horror of 80 of my friends get hold of everyone’s mobile number in a SINGLE SMS! Luckily all the numbers don’t reflect their names otherwise it will be even worst privacy issue.

A few problems with SMS invitations.

1. Not everyone holds a smart phone like iPhone or Android
2. SMS is expensive if you shoot 80 sms in one click what will happen if someone send a few more batches?
3. SMS reveals all contact numbers to everyone.
4. How skout identify who had installed skout? SO Skout may have a database of our contacts WITHOUT ASKING FOR OUR PERMISSION! Which by the way is against Apple’s Terms & conditions

Overall, the user experience of the app feels a little below my expectation even thou it hold great promise to be an excellent social network application.

I will not recommend this app until they had fixed the following

1. Messy SMS invitations and change it to cheaper Facebook invitation instead
2. Customizable Age & location to reflect real information instead of faking it automatically
3. Unable to log in to skout website
4. Stop using bots if there are any
