“Poker With Bob Lite” is a draw poker game like no other! The player faces off against Bob, a real time, fully animated 3d character loaded up with several minutes of lip synced animation. He rants and raves when he loses and taunts the player mercilessly when he wins. This lite version allows the player to engage Bob in dozens of hands at a time with unlimited replays.

Possibly, the game has a high potential of becoming a game via internet only if they can improve some issues that will be further discussed later.

1. Ability to read the computer’s “poker face” is priceless in the game of poker
2. Amazing virtual 3D environment, just turn it side ways to see it! It’s using the accelerometer to detect the hand movement to see “more” behind Bob!
3. Countless numbers of hours to beat Bob, great for in-flight entertainment for poker fans worldwide!

Cons

1. I don’t know if there’s any other characters beside Bob, if there is only one opponent animation then it will be quite boring over time due to the repetitiveness of the responses of Bob
2. Hopefully there will be a full Internet multiplayer instead of a One-on-One Bluetooth multiplayer so that you can play with anyone in the world any time, any location.
3. I do hope they can make a massive multiplayer instead of One-on-One just like the Zynga Poker.
4. The multiplayer does not give an “pop up” message when the opponent quit the game by pressing the “Home” button but that’s not an issue if you are playing with a friend in front of you but it will be a problem if this game expands to a internet game instead of a bluetooth connected gaming.
5. There’s no iPad version?

Overall, this game is lot’s of fun trying to read the poker face of Bob and guess what’s his hand is however there may be more can be improved on in the future.

I had asked the following question to the developer

Are there any plans to improve on the 3D effects to use the iPhone 4 Gyroscope to see the “WHOLE room” (maybe add more players)?
I hadn’t thought about incorporating the gyroscope. It’s a very interesting idea and I’ll test it out and see if it might be possible in a future version.

Hence I believe the 3D effects for the future iPhone 4 owners will be greatly enhance in the future version of “Poker with Bob” while possibly maintaining a accelerometer based 3D effect for older iPhones.
