ProPlayer – the video player [Review]
It’s called “ProPlayer - the video player” and it’s another video player
that will play nearly any video file in any format.
You can throw a video at it and play it without conversion.
Files can be added via iTunes File Sharing, or from any other app in iOS
which supports the “Open In…” dialog (Mail, Dropbox). Video files in the following formats are supported: divx, avi, flv, mov, wmv, mpg, mpeg, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg-4, mp4, m4v ,
mpv, vob, ts, ogv, ogm, mkv, dv, asf, 3gp, m2p, m2ts, m2v, gxf, wm It also supports a vast variety of audio file formats:
m4a, mp3, rm, wma, ogg, vob
Gestures can be used while watching video including swiping left and right
to jump at 10 second increments, while swiping up and down speeds up
and slows down the video.
Double tapping rotates through the display options,
filling the screen, showing the video at full width, or stretching it out.
ProPlayer can handle external subtitle files, automatically selecting those
with a name that matches the video file, though you can also manually choose
which subtitles you want to see.
Videos can be renamed from within the app, and folders can be created
to keep your library organised.
All in all, this is a great app for anyone who watches video on their
iOS device, or is even considering doing so.
Video conversion is always a time consuming activity,
but with ProPlayer you can just watch your favourite movies and TV shows.
I absolutely recommend it.
