Final Fantasy III for the iPad just got released on the Apr 21, 2011 which is like less than a month after the iPhone version of FF3 released on iTunes!

Many may not spend additional $16.99 just for the iPad version but looking at the crisp 3D enhancement for the iPad…it’s well worth it…Gosh…time to grind again!

Final Fantasy III was a hallmark of innovation for the entire series, from the job system that lets characters change classes at any time to the ability to summon powerful creatures such as Shiva and Bahamut.

When darkness falls and the land is robbed of light, four youths are chosen by the crystals to set forth on a journey to save the world.

Game Features

– New and improved 3D visuals and story sequences exclusive to the iPad
– Smooth, intuitive touch-panel controls specifically tailored to Square Enix’s iPhone RPGs
– Quicker browsing through the monster bestiary and other game records
– New visual designs for the Job Mastery Cards
– Retina Display compatible

For the iPad Version
– New and improved 3D visuals and story sequences exclusive to the iPad

Pros

  1. Touch sensitive game play control enhancement making it silky smooth to navigate in this game
  2. The game IS THE FULL version and DOESN’T end at the crystal missions! If you haven’t change Job Mastery, you haven’t completed the game!
  3. This game is the “standard” setter for all classic RPG games wannabes

Cons

  1. The recently released iPad version is a separate app, many iPad users will COMPLAINT why stagger the release of FF3 and not making it Universal release.
  2. There seems to have no porting over of save games from the iPhone version to iPad version
  3. There are no “new” multiplayer enhancement hence you are going through all these by yourself again
  4. This game had been made some time back so you may “feel” it’s a little dated but it’s fine for classic gamers
  5. Extremely costly to buy, only for the Final Fantasy fans worldwide…which is a lot!
  6. Make sure you have something to eat & drink beside you as time will fly pretty quick, alarm clock if you need to do something important like homework

Tips & Tricks

  1. Training site for “grinding” leveling can be easily identified by finding a “heal” point usually either a magic wellspring or a Inn with beds, you can train & heal nearby
  2. Talk to everyone and note down the directions of the next “objective” because it’s hard to remember after 2 hours of grinding
  3. “Save at the map” often as you may never know you may die in some multilevel dungeons & may have to load back a save game
  4. Always put the highest defense character upfront in the formation as a “tanker” short range weapon, long range bow or magic place behind
  5. Puzzles are easy if you think out of the box and use the correct “items” or “magic”
  6. After the first credits roll after the “crystal” missions, DO NOT SWITCH IT OFF!! it’s not over yet!
