Dragon’s Lair HD is based on the laserdisc video game published by Cinematronics in 1983. It featured animation created by Ex-Disney animator Don Bluth.
For fans of retro gaming, this is a great game to feel that rush of excitement back again when in the past you may had spent hundreds of token playing this game in the arcade until the controls goes AWOL on you.
This port however does have a little flaws, the controls are a little too small and the prompt of the instructions is on the button of the iPad making it hard to focus on the animation itself.
My review here tried to think of a way to improve on the game so that it won’t be just another forgettable title in the app store.
My solution is to set both control down at the bottom (standard setting) and make it bigger so that the player won’t have trouble pressing the buttons without looking at it, the prompt should be on the top side instead.
It will just be like a simpler version of tap tap revenge but without music & lines across the screen.
Another idea is to make completed section of the game available a chapter video replay so that the user can see the video without playing the game.
I love Disney types of animation and I hope more Disney apps to appear on the iPad!!
